Welcome to GetOverview.io. GetOverview is a project and work management application for managing projects, tasks, wikis, sprints, timesheets and hours, budgets, comments, and an AI assistant. GetOverview is a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada (Registration No. FM1109622), owned and operated by Sandeep Kumar; in these Terms, references to GetOverview, we, us, and our are references to that business. By accessing or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GetOverview.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.

2. Third-Party Services and Sub-Processors

GetOverview.io relies on several third-party services to operate the platform, provide AI features, and support optional integrations. These service providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the service. The current providers are:

  • Convex.dev: Our cloud application backend, including the primary database, serverless functions, and file and blob storage. Substantially all customer data is stored and processed here. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Clerk: User authentication and identity, including signup, login, session management, and user profile data. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for seat-based subscription billing. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Mailgun: Delivery of transactional email, including notifications, password resets, and account communications. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry: Application error monitoring and performance diagnostics, including crash and error logs. See the Privacy Policy.
  • OpenAI: Processor for AI features. Content you submit to AI features is transmitted to the OpenAI API to be processed. This covers the AI chat assistant and AI agents, semantic search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation embeddings, audio-to-text transcription, AI content generation, and automated extraction of action items from ingested content. OpenAI processes this data as an API customer and, under its API data usage policies, does not use API-submitted data to train its models. See the Privacy Policy and the API data usage policies.
  • Zoom: Optional integration. When you connect Zoom, meeting recording transcripts are delivered to GetOverview via Zoom webhooks and processed into project updates. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Slack: Optional integration. Sends notifications to Slack and can ingest messages from channels you map to a project. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Teams: Optional integration. Sends notifications to Teams and can ingest messages from mapped Teams channels. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Google Chat: Optional integration. Sends notifications to Google Chat and can ingest messages from mapped Google Chat spaces. See the Privacy Policy.

Automated privacy filtering: Content ingested from meeting transcripts and chat integrations passes through an automated privacy filter before it is stored. The filter discards content that consists solely of credentials, API keys, secrets, health information, or financial account details, and redacts incidental personal data such as email addresses and phone numbers.

3. AI Features and API Access

GetOverview.io provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, an in-house OAuth 2.1 authorization server that supports Dynamic Client Registration, a public REST API at /api/v1, and Personal Access Tokens. Third-party AI tools and clients, for example Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT, can connect to your account through these interfaces and act on your behalf.

When you authorize a client, you select one specific workspace, known as a space, and grant a set of permission scopes on the GetOverview consent screen. GetOverview then issues a token that is bound to that single space and limited to those scopes, and your login identity is verified through Clerk. Once connected, and only within the granted scopes and the chosen space, the connected tool can read and, where write scopes are granted, create or modify your projects, tasks, wiki pages, sprints, comments, time entries and hours, and budget data. Access to budget data requires elevated owner or admin permission.

Important: when you connect a third-party AI tool or client, the project, task, wiki, timesheet, budget, and other data that the tool requests is transmitted to that third party and is then governed by the privacy policy and terms of that tool, not by GetOverview. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy practices and terms of any AI tool or client you connect, and for your compliance with the terms of that tool. You may revoke access at any time from your account settings.

You are responsible for the third-party AI tools and API clients you connect and for keeping your tokens secure. Access tokens, refresh tokens, and Personal Access Tokens are stored only as SHA-256 hashes, and the plaintext token value is shown only once at creation. Tokens are space-scoped, have expirations, support rotation, and can be revoked at any time from account settings. When you use the API or MCP interfaces, you agree not to abuse the service, not to attempt unauthorized access to any account or data, and to respect published rate limits and acceptable-use expectations.

4. Data Recovery

Items sent to the bin are soft-deleted and retained temporarily so that they can be restored. Permanent deletion is unrecoverable and also purges the associated AI search and embedding data. Once data is permanently deleted from GetOverview.io, it cannot be recovered, even by our support team. Please ensure that you have backed up any important data before permanent deletion.

5. Support

We offer limited email-based support. While we strive to respond to all inquiries promptly, response times may vary. Support is provided for issues related to the functionality and use of GetOverview.io.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

All payments made to GetOverview.io are non-refundable. If you choose to cancel your subscription, you will retain access to the service until the end of the current billing cycle. After this period, the app will be locked, and only the owner will have access.

7. Payments

Payments for GetOverview.io are seat-based. Subscription fees are adjusted on a prorated basis whenever new members are added or removed. This ensures that you are only charged for the seats you use.

8. Data Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your data is retained only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Your data is not shared with any third parties except for the service providers and optional integrations described above, and any third-party AI tools or API clients you choose to connect as described in Section 3, and only as needed to operate the service or as directed by you. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing. There are no third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the product. Cookies are used only for authentication and session management, through Clerk, and for essential functionality. No third-party advertising trackers are used. Content ingested from meeting transcripts and chat integrations is filtered by our automated privacy filter before storage, as described in Section 2. For more detail, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetOverview.io and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service;
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein;
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our services;
  • Any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our services by any third party;
  • The acts or omissions of any third-party AI tool, API client, or integration that you connect to your account, including any data transmitted to that third party;
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the services.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence, which continue to apply to the extent they cannot be excluded by agreement.
